This presentation includes a discussion of the requirements of the open government laws as well as recent cases and legislation. * August 14, 6pm-7pm: Florida Ethics – An Overview and Update. This hour-long presentation will provide a general overview of the Florida Commission on Ethics, including the ethics statutes that apply to Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisors. In particular, it will provide a look at the ethics complaint process, as well as a discussion of the statutes dealing with misuse of position, anti-nepotism, conflicting employment relationships, voting conflicts, and gifts and bribery. Any recent changes or updates in these areas of the law will be given special emphasis.. Presenter: Gray Schafer, Assistant General Counsel, Florida Commission on Ethics.
